Extra help
Our core study tools and exam prep resources are all free and unlimited, but if you need a little more help, we have some additional tools to give you a boost.
What you already get
We made all our core tools free to use. A free account already comes with:
All exam prep resources including MCAT OpenReview, with unlimited retakes
Practice questions generated from your own documents
The AI tutor, for working through anything you're stuck on
Flashcards with spaced repetition, from any material
Study guides, mind maps, and podcasts
Progress tracking, review scheduling, and reminders
This should be plenty for most students. However, we know that some students need a little more help. We built an Advanced tier for those who want a closer look at their own performance, or a way to pull everything together before a test.
Our advanced tools
Synthesize
After every quiz or flashcard session, Synthesize maps your strengths and weaknesses by topic. For each weak area, it explains what you're getting wrong and why, then generates focused notes, flashcards, and questions to correct it. It updates as you study, so you can address your weak areas as you go.

Cram Mode
Choose the documents and question bank sessions an exam covers, and Cram Mode consolidates them into one review package: a synthesized study guide, a fresh flashcard deck, and practice quizzes. You control how strict the filter is — all flashcards or only the ones you keep lapsing on, all questions or only the ones you missed or flagged, a comprehensive summary or one limited to your weak topics.

Expanded uploads
Study from images, audio, and video in addition to documents — lecture recordings, photos of handwritten notes, and video lessons. Includes automatic image occlusion, which hides the labels on any diagram and turns it into a flashcard deck.

Exports
Download your work as real files: flashcards as spreadsheets, study guides and quiz questions as documents, and podcast transcripts as text. Useful for studying offline, printing, or moving your material somewhere else.

$3.99 a month
Billed annually at $47.88. Month-to-month is $5.99. Either can be canceled at any time.

For context, the figures on the MCAT page: commercial prep courses run from about $1,100 to $7,299, and a standalone question bank runs $339 or more. Advanced costs less per year than most students spend on coffee during a single exam week.
Subscriptions are what keep us going
Reviewing questions and running the servers behind the study tools is all cost money. Most study platforms cover that by charging for the basics and reserving the good material for the students who can pay.

Brain Brew is built the other way around. The question bank, the textbooks, and every core study tool are free and stay free. Advanced is what makes that possible.
